The parent company of PartyPoker, Bwin.party, has submitted a formal application to provide online poker to Nevada residents, joining a list of applicants that now numbers two dozen.

Just a few months ago, Bwin.party announced a partnership agreement with Las Vegas-based casino companies MGM Resorts International and Boyd Gaming to operate poker sites in the U.S. following the enactment of regulations. Nevada’s legislation requires service providers such as Bwin.party who are not based in Nevada to join forces with established brick-and-mortar casino companies located in the Silver State.

PartyPoker had a foothold as the world’s top poker room prior to the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) in 2006. The site elected to withdraw its services from the U.S. market following the vaguely worded UIGEA legislation that saw other sites such as PokerStars, Full Tilt and Absolute Poker flout the law and remain as U.S. internet poker providers, thereby gaining the player traffic and revenue ceded by PartyPoker’s exit. Almost five years later in 2011, the ramifications of remaining in the U.S. market were felt by the aforementioned poker sites that seemingly ignored the UIGEA and were hit with the Black Friday indictments that shook the entire online poker industry, eventually forcing the closure of Full Tilt, with Absolute Poker currently rumored to be seeking asset liquidation.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board is presently reviewing online poker applications received. It is not known at this time how many applicants the board will actually approve. However, Bwin.party is thought to have an excellent chance of approval based on its longstanding success in the online poker industry, its solid partners with a favorable presence in Nevada, as well as its exit from the U.S. marketplace in conforming with UIGEA regulations in 2006.

Bwin.party joins a list of other major players wishing to provide online poker in Nevada, including 888 Holdings, IGT, Boss Media, and Shuffle Master, who recently announced an agreement to purchase the Ongame Network from Bwin.party just a few days ago.

If you are not from the United States there is no need to wait. Join the Party, by downloading Party Poker today!

It's party time at Party Poker once again! Get our Party Poker reload bonus code here, and play without having to pay rake next month.

Everyone enjoys a bargain around this time of year, so all you poker fans should get over to poker room Party Poker as soon as possible to take advantage of their latest “amazing” offer of rake-free tournaments throughout January.

All multi-table Party Poker tournaments will be rake-free during next month, while Party Poker customers – including new sign-ups depositing a minimum of $50 – will also have the opportunity to qualify for a $50,000 depositors’ freeroll in early February, as well as enjoy the benefits of an exclusive reload bonus.

A spokesman for Party Poker said: “For the whole of January, all MTTs (multi-table tournaments) on PartyPoker.com are rake-free – giving the customer amazing, unique value and more money to play more.

“As the rake-free period applies to all MTTs, online qualifiers for offline events – including WPTs (World Poker Tour events) – will have new structures which incorporate no fees.”

Rake-free Events Begin on January 1

Those “unique” rake-free events – which kick off at 00:00 ET (Eastern Time Zone) on January 1 and end at 23:59 ET on January 31 – have been separated into two distinct groups.

Players looking to take part in events with $1, $2 and $3 buy-ins will see all their money become part of the prize pool, so – as an example – customers paying $2.70+30¢ will pay a flat $3 to play, thus eliminating the rake.

However, Party Poker have set up a slightly different structure for players taking part in tournaments with entries of £6 and above, with the buy-in being reduced. Therefore, a $20+$2 tournament will now be played as a $20 event, doing away with the rake altogether.

Meanwhile, entry to the $50,000 depositors’ freeroll – which will take place on Sunday, February 5, at 11:00 ET – requires that Party Poker customers deposit at least $50, and as much as $100, before January 31.

Double Your Money with the Party Poker Reload Bonus

Players will also gain a double-your-money bonus when keying in the code ‘RAKEFREE’, and that offer is not just open to new customers as it can also be seen as a reload extra for existing clients. This Party Poker reload bonus will allow players to take advantage of Party Poker’s rake-free tournaments, or maybe make an impact atone of the poker website’s busy cash games.

Of course, Party Poker always provides the wonderful 100% first deposit bonus of as much as $500 when new players use Party Poker bonus code ‘SKYHIGH’ code provided by our site.

If you are interested, please get yourself over to the Party Poker website by signing up here.

Party poker is once again offering lucky and skilled poker players prize packages to one of the most popular poker tournaments on the globe - Aussie Millions.

Party poker is once again offering lucky and skilled poker players prize packages to one of the most popular poker tournaments on the globe—Aussie Millions. Aussie Millions started eight years ago in 2004 and has grown into the major poker event Down Under.

The Main Event at the initial Aussie Millions, which was and is still held in Melbourne, did not offer a grand prize of a million. The big prize was $426,500 and there were just 133 entrants in the Main Event. The next year, the Main Event offered $1 million to the winner as 263 competed for the award.

Bigger Numbers and More Money

Then in 2007 for the first time the Main Event topped the 700 mark for participants and the prize went to $1.5 million. In the past five years, an average of about 720 poker players have competed in the big game and in the past three the grand prize has stood at $2 million.

Party poker members are lucky to have a direct link to Aussie Millions prize packages that total $16,000 each. Those packages include the $11,400 buy-in to the Main Event, eight nights at the Crown Promenade Hotel, which sits next to the tournament venue, the Crown Casino, and $2,500 in cash that you can spend in any way you’d care to.

How to Get to Aussie Millions

Party poker is giving players numerous ways to win one the Aussie Millions prize packages. There are plenty of freerolls that will help get you top the Main Event. They do not cost one cent and they are held every day. The top 25 players get to go to the next step as they are awarded $2 sub-qualifier speed rebuy event seats.

The point is to win a seat at the $640+$40 Aussie Millions Satellite. This is where poker players can win one of the $16,000 prize packages. How many will win? One in 15 players or about 7% of participants will find themselves with entry into the Main Event at Aussie Millions.

Party poker Bankroll Booster

Of course the freeroll route can be extremely crowded and difficult to navigate. Instead of taking that path, players can always buy-in to the Aussie Millions Satellite for a total of $680. But not everyone has that much cash to spend on one event.

There’s good news as Party poker is offering its Bankroll Booster to players. These tournaments, which are held every Sunday at 19:30 GMT, are free. Each carries a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000. Boost your bankroll through one of these events and you may be able to afford the buy-in to the Aussie Millions Satellite or to some high stakes games where you can score some big cash. However you do have to qualify to play in a Bankroll Booster event.

Earning a Bankroll Booster Seat

Here’s what to do to get a seat in a Bankroll Booster event.

In the week prior your preferred Bankroll Booster tournament, simply earn five PartyPoints.

In one of three one-point qualifiers held every day (14:45, 19:45 and 01:45 GMT), finish in the top 25 players.

In the daily new customer qualifiers held at 18:45 and 00:45 GMT, finish in the top 50.

Eye on the Prize

If you’re new to Party poker be sure to use the following bonus code for Party Poker SKYHIGH to get a Party Poker bonus of up to $500. Once you sign up, start competing to win one of the great Aussie Millions prize packages. You may be lucky enough to sit next to Sam Trickett, Erik Seidel, James Bord or Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates.

The Main Event starts on January 22. It’s a great event. Best of luck in getting there!

The winners of the recent Party Poker Pokerfest Main Event enjoyed the benefit of a massive $54,400 overlay in the $1 million guaranteed Party Poker tournament.

The winners of the recent Party Poker Pokerfest Main Event enjoyed the benefit of a massive $54,400 overlay in the $1 million guaranteed Party Poker tournament.

Despite smaller overlays in two earlier events – #22 ($100.00 buy-in 6-Max Deepstack) and #23 ($200.00 buy-in NL Hold´em) – a net loss in the feature tournament of the 47 event series had hardly been anticipated following six weeks of qualifying satellites and plenty of pre-event promotion. However, as all online poker players know, things do not always go as planned.

Less Than 1,600 Players Take Part

Despite the volume of online poker qualifiers to the Main Event, and the attention these had attracted, only 1,576 players took their seats in the $640.00 buy-in event. The overlay represented a 5.75% bonus to the 200 players who cashed in the event and a big hit to Party Poker who, in the series as a whole, paid out more than $15,000 in tournaments which had buy-ins with Party Poker Points and a further $78,900 in tournament overlays.

Double Good News for Koppiesop

The overlay was excellent news for “Koppiesop”, who won the Pokerfest Main Event after failing to qualify through the satellites in the weeks leading up to the feature tournament. He and “Boomerfancy” (who also final tabled in Event #32) made a heads-up deal which saw them collect $165,000 and $145,000 respectively – more than $8,000 above what they would have won had there been no guarantee in place. Also, it has to be acknowledged that the smaller than anticipated level of competition made their paths to the heads-up of the final table all that much easier!

Playing on Party Poker Provides Excellent Value

This latest overlay, although unintentional, is a fantastic example of the value that Party Poker players get when they play on the online poker site. Not only is there an easy-to-redeem $500.00 first deposit bonus, a comprehensive series of freerolls and valuable monthly promotions, but Party Poker also provides one of the most straightforward routes to qualify for some of the most lucrative live poker tournaments in Europe and beyond.

Recent merge between Bwin.Party and US casino companies MGM Resorts International and Boyd Gaming has resulted in a substantial increase in share prices.

The recent partnership agreement between Bwin.Party and US casino companies MGM Resorts International and Boyd Gaming has resulted in a substantial increase in share prices of the European-based gaming company.

Shares of Bwin.Party are up 11 points, currently trading at 120.7, on the heels of the announcement of the merger which is aimed at providing internet poker to US players if gaming legislation is enacted in the United States.

“This is a potentially huge long-term deal that, along with Bwin.Party’s excellent European assets and brands, supports our bull stance,” said James Hollins of Evolution Securities, an investment banking company based in London. “Short-term risk remains over changes to German legislation, but we think this is priced in and the shares are good value on current estimates.”

Bwin.Party will retain 65 percent of the newly formed entity, while MGM Resorts International receives 25 percent and Boyd Gaming will hold a ten percent stake in the agreement. The deal is believed to be for 15 years, but is contingent upon U.S. lawmakers structuring legislation that allows and regulates online poker in the U.S. market.

“There will be one poker network, with MGM, Boyd, Party Poker, and the WPT [World Poker Tour], four brands on one network.” Bwin.Party co-CEO Jim Ryan said.

Bwin.Party is the parent company of Party Poker. The two are currently separate entities, but integration processes are now in the works. Also in the works of the new merger are attempts to secure licensing in Nevada.

Paul Leyland, a representative of Investec Bank, an international investment group in London that focuses on asset management and specialist banking, also felt that the deal between the trio of companies was quite attractive, but he did have some reservations.

“We would not get carried away for three reasons. One, legalization of poker is still likely to take some time and Bwin.Party’s ‘suitability’ is not guaranteed. Two, a U.S. regulated poker market is likely to be far less lucrative than historical ‘.com’. Three, medium-term performance should still focus on Europe,” Leyland said.

Leyland’s belief that online poker regulation in the US would not advance quickly was echoed by California Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-CA), chairwoman of the House Subcommittee for Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade, following a hearing last week that debated consumer safety in the proposed online poker legislation. Mack urged her Congressional colleagues to move slowly in their considerations of internet poker regulations.

“I think to rush it [online poker legislation] would be a mistake,” Bono Mack said. “We have to find a balance of moving it and balancing the technological problems with the policy problems. There’s just way too much here that has to be fleshed out.“

Bwin.Party is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is traded as “BPTY.” The company could trade on the American market following the legalization of online poker at either the state or the Federal level.

Two land-based casinos and Bwin.Party, known for their Party Poker brand, announced a joint venture to position themselves at the head of the US market.

Two major land-based casino brands have announced a joint venture with online poker company Bwin.Party, mostly known for their Party Poker brand, to position themselves at the head of the market should online poker be legalised in the United States.

MGM Resorts International – who own part or all of 18 casinos in Nevada, Mississippi, Michigan and Illinois – and the Boyd Gaming Corporation, with 17 casinos in Nevada, New Jersey, Mississippi, Illinois, Indiana, and Louisiana, intend to form a new company with Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment PLC, which will enable the two casino giants to offer online poker to US clients under their own skins on a new Bwin.Party poker network.

A Sign of Momentum

The news is being interpreted that things are at last starting to get a move on in Capitol Hill, where the nation´s lawmakers have been slow to see the potential that online poker holds for the US economy. With land-based casinos most likely to be awarded the first options to establish online poker sites in the US, and many European online poker providers keen to tap into the most lucrative market in the world when legislation is passed, this joint venture enables all three parties in this venture to hit the ground running when they are given the green light.

The Return of the “Big Three”

Prior to UIEGA in 2006, Party Poker was the dominant force in online poker in the US, with PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker lagging some way behind in second and third. Bwin.Party´s Co-Chief Executive Office, Jim Ryan has already admitted that Bwin.Party aim to be the Nº1 online poker site in the USA and, with this strategic alliance, the company is taking the first steps to achieve this. However, other joint ventures were announced earlier in the year between Caesar´s Casinos, the WSOP and 888 Poker, and also between Wynn´s Casinos and PokerStars – so Bwin.Party will face massive competition against more recently established US brands if they are to achieve their aim.

Murren´s Faux Pas in Attack on Unregulated Sites

Commenting on the announcement, Jim Murren – the CEO of MGM Resorts International – used the opportunity to criticise those companies still offering online poker for US players. “We know there are millions of U.S. citizens risking billions of dollars at unregulated, illegal sites and there is no way to enforce good behaviour, and that has to change.” Unfortunately, he displayed his ignorance of the law (playing online poker in the States is not illegal – it is the way in which player funds are transferred in and out of their accounts which breaks the law). Hopefully Bwin.Party´s CEO Jim Ryan will have a word in his ear before the new partnership starts operating!

Maybe with more than a twist of wishful thinking, Party Poker has just announced its latest online poker promotion – “World Domination”.

Maybe with more than a twist of wishful thinking, Party Poker has just announced its latest online poker promotion – “World Domination”.

Like we state already on our Party Poker Promotions page, there are too many promotions to mention them all. This new promotion aims to get their online poker players involved in more cash games than ever before, and awards “cities” each time a players collects 10 Party Poker Points (2 Party Points are awarded per $ raked or paid in tournament entry fees). Collect 4 cities within one country to win a cash prize or carry on playing to conquer continents for larger rewards. There are 72 cities in total to collect, and if you ultimately achieve “World Domination” before 30th December you win a whopping $100,000.

Big City Prizes as Well

In addition to the cash prizes available for conquering countries and continents, Party Poker are giving away cash prizes and freeroll entries for specific cities as well. For example, if you are awarded “London” as your next city, an extra $8.00 is added to your bankroll, and if you are awarded Newcastle you win an entry to a $3,000 freeroll. Cities are awarded randomly so you could effectively collect five Newcastles and no Londons. Only one entry per freeroll is allowed, so Party Poker will give you five more Party Poker Points for each duplicate city you are issued with (i.e. 5 Newcastles = One tournament entry and 20 Party Points). The freeroll tournaments will be played on the site between 4th and 9th January 2012.

How Much (Realistically) Can You Win?

Most Party Poker players (who put some effort in) should be able to manage to conquer one country, with England (London, Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester) being the most valuable at $1,500 and the USA worth just $300.00 (LOL!). Conquer England and go on to dominate Europe (28 specific cities required) and you will collect $5,200 for the seven individual countries plus a $20,000 bonus. Smaller bonuses apply for other continents, but the total potentially that a player could win would be $100,000 (world domination) plus $52,000 (for all 5 continents) plus $10,100 (for all 18 countries) plus unlimited spot prizes on the 9 cities with cash bonuses and entry to 9 different freeroll tournaments.

Terms and Conditions

Reading through the terms and conditions of the offer, it does not state that there is only one $100,000 prize, however there is the proviso that the promotion may end prior to the 30th December if all the cities have been given away before that time – which would imply there is a limit on how much Party Poker are putting into this promotion. Players can collect up to 100 cities a day, so if the promotion proves popular there is the good chance that it could all be done and dusted by Christmas. Players have until midnight on 31st December to claim their prizes.

A Good Promotion for New Party Poker Players

If you do not already have a Party Poker account, click on the link below to download the free software and register your account. Party Poker are offering new players on their online poker site a 100% match bonus up to $/€/£500.00 on first deposits if you make use of our Party Poker bonus code SKYHIGH, with the bonus redeemed by collecting Party Poker Points. Therefore, you could be eligible for a further $/€/£500.00 on top of the prizes that can be won in their latest promotion – and it should be in your account just in time to pay those post-Christmas credit card bills!

Pokerfest features at least three events each day in the 16-day schedule with a wide range of buy-ins and game types. There are also qualifying tourneys for as low as $1 that are going on right now.

Party Poker has also added jackpots to the mix for repeat tourney money winners. Just finish in-the-money in any 10 of the 47 Pokerfest tournaments and Party Poker will pay you $5,000. Landing at the final table in any 10 events is good for a jackpot payday of $10,000. And finally, win any three Pokerfest tournaments and you will take home an additional $20,000.

For each of the 47 tourneys entered, you will receive a ticket for a Pokerfest prize drawing. The first 500 players whose names are drawn will win prizes such as poker chip sets, iPads and other items featured in the Partypoker Points Store.
